Service Description

During this six-week course you will work solely with the technique of wheel-thrown pottery. You will learn to center the clay, cone up and down, produce cylinders, bowls and plates. You will also learn how to finish your work through turning and then glazing. Projects will be offered, but you can choose to work as independently as you like; advice and support will be given along the way. All basic materials and equipment will be provided. Should you wish to use specialist clays and glazes, learners will have to source these themselves. The course runs over 5 consecutive weeks with the 6th week placed 2 weeks after the first block. This is to enable your work to go through its first firing. The final session will be focussed on glazing.
